Highlight resume text to find similar candidates

Select a short phrase in any resume preview, such as a software name, a certification or a job title, and press Search to run a candidate search for it.

Search from the resume you are reading

Reading a resume and want to know who else has that experience? Highlight a short phrase in the preview, such as a software name, a certification or a job title. A small Search button appears above your selection. Press it and RecruitIQ closes the preview and opens Candidates with your phrase already searched.

It runs the same keyword search as the Candidates search bar, so the results match what you would get by typing the phrase yourself.

How to use it

Highlight the text and press Search. Hold Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) while you click to open the results in a new tab and keep the resume open. Press Esc to dismiss the button and clear your selection without closing the preview.

If you are in the middle of writing a note, Search opens in a new tab so your unsaved note is never lost.

Limits to know about

Only short phrases work: up to 8 words. Longer selections do not show the button. Scanned resumes that are only an image have no selectable text, so there is nothing to highlight and the button will not appear. The button appears on candidate screens for your team.
