Candidate search no longer matches where a candidate came from

Typing a word in Candidates search now looks at the person, not their source, so searching “recruiter” finds people who work as recruiters. Use the Source filter to find candidates by where they came from.

What changed

When you type a word in the Candidates search box, it no longer matches the source a candidate came from. Searching “recruiter” now finds people who work as recruiters, not everyone an external recruiter submitted.

Why it matters

Results are about the person. A word like “recruiter” used to pull in every candidate whose source happened to contain it, which buried the people you were actually looking for.

How to find candidates by source

Use the Source filter. Choose the source you want and the list shows the candidates who came from it. You can combine the Source filter with a search word to narrow the list further.

Boundaries to know about

Only free-text search changed. The Source filter works as it did before, and a candidate’s source is still shown on their profile. Result counts for words that are also source names, such as “recruiter”, will be lower than before. Searching still covers names, contact details, job titles, employers, skills, tags and resume text.
